Asia
Vet Assistant
Hi, I’m Asia!
Since childhood, I have always had the desire to contribute to the world, whether through assisting humans or animals. I’m sure my inspiration was sparked by the amount of documentaries that I would consistently watch, which depicted a lot of the world’s challenges. Growing up with dogs since 8 years old, my household often cared for the dogs of extended family members, which further fueled my passion.
As I matured, my passion for animal welfare was very clear. It was influenced significantly by my employment at a Virginia-based animal shelter. This experience solidified my commitment to pursuing a career in animal care. Meanwhile, I was enrolled in college to pursue a degree in biology. Through balancing academic responsibilities and working at All Paws, I successfully earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. This achievement marks a significant milestone in my journey towards becoming a veterinarian.
Throughout my educational journey one childhood dog Max, has been a constant companion and has been there through every stage from elementary school to college.
Desiree
Vet Assistants
My name is Desiree and I aspire to be a Veterinarian someday. In 2023 I graduated from Bowie State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
All Paws is providing me with much needed experience in preparation for veterinary school. I have a sweet yet crazy orange cat named Kimchi. Due to my interest in animals and photography, I take pictures of wildlife as a small hobby. I am proud of my Jamaican background, so 99% of the time you will see me with my Jamaica pendant on my necklace.
Fun fact: I told myself I’d foster animals when I’m old and retired but recently found myself fostering a kitten that I might end up keeping. Her name is Bean.
